Color of the year: Radiant Orchid

Every year Pantone picks a color of the year and the Color of 2014—Radiant Orchid—a pinkish and purple hue, is said to “emanate great joy, love and health.”

This sounds like a perfect color to kick off the year. My first impression of this color was that it's very girly but combined with other colors, it works well for men and interiors.

Here are some ideas on how to incorporate the color of the year in your life!

Radiant Orchid’s rosy undertones radiate on the skin, producing a healthy glow when worn by both men and women. If this color is too feminine for you, then use it as accent to your outfit.

Radiant Orchid is a flattering shade for many hair, eye and skin tones and combines well with other colors for distinctive looks. If you want to go for a sexy and seductive look, consider pairing it with red. And for a flirty, feminine look try pairing it with its  sister shades of lavender, purple and pink. I especially love it on nails.
