DIY Candy Bar

Happy Halloween!Today is all about candy (at least in my house!) so I am inspired to write a post about candy!Candy bars or buffets are fairly popular for weddings but are also becoming very popular for kids birthdays.I recently did one for my daughter's 8th birthday and she was absolutely delighted.I mean which kid wouldn't want a candy store in their home! And be the kid who hands out free candy to their friends? Super cool, right?

A candy bar is fairly easy to pull off, given you have all the right ingredients :-) And it makes a very bold statement when assembled correctly. Your guests will be delighted when they see the collection of yummy treats that they get to take home as a party favor! Here's a step-by-step guide to assemble your very own candy bar:1. Find a nice spot, preferably a bar area or a buffet in a dining room with a back wall.2. Pick a color scheme for your candy bar and try and buy candy within that color scheme. Visually it looks very appealing.3. Find interesting glass containers to display the candy. I love different shaped apothecary jars, cylindrical vases, shallow glass bowls like the ones below.

4. Personalize the containers by adding labels or stickers. I found some great ones at Zazzle and Minted5. Feel free to add cookies, cupcakes, macarons or other sweets along with the candy. The more sugar, the merrier!6.  Get some candy scoops and tongs to serve the candy.7.  Buy cute container, boxes or bags for the kids to fill up their candy to take home.

8.  Add a fun banner, tablecloth, some balloons or giant pom poms in the chosen color scheme for added festiveness.

SIT BACK & ENJOY THE DELIGHT ON THEIR PRECIOUS FACES!
