Mother’s Day Gift Ideas 2020
Mother’s Day is around the corner.
Mothers reading this blog post, PLEASE FORWARD it to your kids over 10 and husbands (if they are a part of the equation). No point mother’s reading a post on gift ideas for us!
After almost 9 weeks in quarantine without access to any house hold help, beauty salons, therapists, trainers, or social time with girlfriends, mothers are ready to be celebrated!!!! If breakfast-in-bed was your usual go-to for Mother’s Day then try breakfast, lunch, drinks and dinner in bed for your mother this year :) It’s that kind of year so maybe a little extra effort would be truly appreciated by your mothers.
Instead of my usual post of my favorite gifts for mothers, I tried to make this post more apt for this unusual COVID 19 social distancing time.
Here are some ideas that I hope will spark your imagination….
For the epicurean mother
Organize a Zoom cooking class with a few of her favorite chef friends. Help by buying ingredients and cleaning up afterwards.
Add to her favorite cookware collection. Le Creuset is having a great sale and it’s a personal favorite.
Get her a stylish Herb Garden from Moma for a constant supply of her favorite herbs.
Become her favorite child by gifting her a sourdough starter, the most sought after gift!!!! Local people can get it from Little Sky Bakery
Beautiful tableware like this set by Hearth and Hand.
For the creative mother
Subscription to Masterclass, I have absolutely loved my subscription and enjoyed learning from masters in their trades such as Anna Wintour, Kelly Wearstler, and Annie Leibovitz . It would make it even more meaningful, if you picked a few classes you could do together with your mother.
Make a photo book of your favorite pictures of mom via Chatbooks.
Build a slideshow of favorite vacation pictures and travel the world together from your couch. Make sure to add her favorite songs to the slideshow.
Create a mixed media art piece using magazine photos, favorite objects, photos and your creativity for a masterpiece she will treasure forever.
For the well-coiffed, spa-loving mother
Since your mother can’t go to a spa or beauty salon, maybe you can bring it to her!
Gift her a Theragun….it’s like having a deep tissue massage at home. Add a personal touch by making home-made gift certificates to massages
Make a DIY face mask. Some ideas can be found at https://www.allure.com/gallery/homemade-face-mask-recipes
Make her a Spa Music Playlist on Spotify
Get her some pretty nail polishes like this collection from Deborah Lippman
Surprise her with the Dyson Airwrap Styler. This awesome set produces salon quality blowouts and hairstyles.
For the Fashionista mother
With a limited social calendar and not too many places to go, lounge wear and athleisure clothing are all the rage right now.
Washable silk loungewear by Lunya
Slip-ons by Birdies
For the mother who has it all
Write her a poem or a short story celebrating her. Tell her what you love the most about her. Cut her flowers from the garden. Give her the tightest hug and tell her how much you love her. These gifts cost nothing but are the most priceless of them all.
I hope everyone has a wonderful mother’s day!
