I am starting to see a lot more of Kilim fabrics recently. Kilim rugs have always been popular but recently many designers are crafting the flat tapestry-woven carpets into pillows, home accessories, furniture and even fashion accessories like boots, belts, jackets etc.
I love the look of layered kilim pillows — full of texture, pattern and fabulous color palettes especially now since we are going in to Fall. It’s the perfect way to bring color into your home without being loud or unsophisticated about it.
You can find Kilim patterned furnishings at mainstream retailers like West Elm and Pottery Barn but you’ll likely find better prices and more unique designs searching Etsy or Ebay.
Kilim patterns can be used in modern/contemporary settings as well as traditional settings as seen in the pictures below.
