Which reminds me that there are other ways one can nourish your soul - one of them being giving back to the community you are a part of. Trust me, its highly rewarding! There are many ways to give back, one of them being working with a non-profit you feel passionately about.
Earlier this year, I was introduced to this organization called My New Red Shoes (MNRS), which is a local, Bay Area non-profit that helps homeless and low-income children look and feel confident as they start the school year by providing them with new clothing and shoes.
I was inspired by the story of how MNRS was founded plus having kids of my own and knowing how important it is to their self esteem to fit in, made me connect to this organization.
Its a simple concept yet highly impactful. MNRS provides a $50 clothing gift card and a new pair of shoes so that they can start the school year proud and ready to learn.
In 2012, My New Red Shoes plans to serve 4,000 school-aged children in Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, and Alameda counties and have served over 11,000 families since it started in 2006!

And do find a cause you love - helps put one's life in perspective 🙂
