Mad about Florals – Spring 2013 Trend

Loving the modern floral prints popping up all over the place. Definitely feels like spring is around the corner.
Embrace this uplifting pattern either in small doses like shoes, belts or bags or in larger doses likes pants/jeans, dresses or tops. Either way, you'll attract tons of sunshine!

Since these prints are a bit edgy and already full of personality, best to wear minimum accessories, stay away from anything too pretty, and maybe leave your hair a bit messy!

Here are my picks for modern floral items to wear in your everyday life!

Modern Florals - Spring 2013 Trend

Spring’s lust-worthy Handbags

I am so bored with all the dark winter colors and can not wait to add a jolt of color to my wardrobe this spring! Since I love my accessories, I'm pretty sure a new handbag is in the horizon! I have started my research process so thought I would share some of my top picks for spring.
In case you are thinking of investing in a new handbag too, check out these handbags from some of my favorite designers in beautiful pastel spring colors like pink, blush, lavender and salmon and also in bold colors like shocking pink and orange. There are many styles to choose from as well - the Cross body style like the classic Hermes to shoulder bags from Ferragamo, Valentino, and Chanel to totes from Balenciaga, Valentino and Chloe.
If you have seen a beautiful Spring purse that caught your eye, please do share!

You can wear Leopard!

Out of all the animal prints, leopard print is probably my favorite. I love it mainly because

  • If you tend to wear neutrals, it really jazzes things up.
  • It rarely ever goes out of fashion especially if you buy something classic like a blazer or a pump in leopard print.
  • It tends to brings out the inner diva in you!

Whether you are in your 20's, 30's, 40's or older, you can totally wear this print. However, the key is to wear it age appropriately.
20's - Pick any shape or color, sky's the limit. You can really have fun and wear leopard print in bright colors and bold patterns.
30's - Stick to neutral colors but  feel free to add some contrast, stick to classic shapes and interesting fabrics like cashmere, corduroy, etc.
40's and older - Best to stick to small patterns and neutral colors when wearing it in clothes. And wearing it in small doses like a belt, cuff, or ballet flats.

Ooh La Lace!

Lace is still the protagonist of the season. There is nothing more feminine and sexy than a lace dress. Besides the classic colors nude, black and white, there are so many options available from jewel tones to metallics to neon lace this season. Thanks to its sexy and elegant characteristics, lace can make anyone look graceful, girly and fashionable
I am loving lace dresses with a leather jacket and a pair of black ankle booties for a glam rock look for the evening!

Holiday Gift Guide: Little Luxuries for Her!

I like my little luxuries - no doubt about it at all! Since we are in the giving season and many of my friend's husbands can do with some inspiration for spoiling their wives :-), here are a few of my favorite little luxuries.

Leather Trim Tees & Tops

During this time of year, there are tons of leather options from boots to jackets to skirts to pants. This year, I am really loving the subtle use of leather in unexpected places like collars, elbow pads, pockets and sleeves of tees and tops.  It's a perfect option for women who aren't completely comfortable wearing too much leather.
The tops are particularly appealing to me as I like the mixing of different textures.
Throw it on with jeans and boots and you have a stylishly sexy outfit!
Lots of options out there in a range of prices depending on whether its real or faux leather.
Here are some of my favorites....

Holiday Style: Sparkling Silver

This is one of my favorite Alice & Olivia dresses as it is the perfect combination of sparkle and ruffle. To make it holiday party appropriate, wear it with the season's hot color, burgundy, accessories. The Chanel Camillia brooch is gorgeous and would look awesome pinned to the waist. Keep your hair lose and wavy, add a dramatic eye and lip and you are bound to be the talk of the party!
